Nilörn’s climate targets validated by SBT

We are proud to announce that Nilörngruppen’s climate targets have been officially validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This milestone confirms that our goals for reducing greenhouse gas emissions are aligned with the latest climate science and the Paris Agreement’s ambition to limit global warming to 1.5°C.

Nilörngruppen AB commits to:

• Reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 63.0% by 2035 from a 2024 base year.

• Reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions 37.7% within the same timeframe.

• Reduce absolute scope 3 FLAG GHG emissions 50.0% by 2035 from a 2024 base year.**

Nilörngruppen AB commits to no deforestation across its primary deforestation-linked commodities, with a target date of December 31, 2025.

Packaging with Purpose: Nilörn x WILDPLASTIC®

WILDPLASTIC® is building a system to recover plastic from nature and bring it back into the loop. Their work tackles plastic pollution through recovery in some of the world’s most affected regions, while also strengthening informal waste collector communities through fair partnerships.

Through this collaboration, Nilörn expands preferred material options within our packaging portfolio. The material is available for protective packaging solutions such as polybags (garment bags) and e-commerce mailers, either in 100% WILDPLASTIC® or in blends with PCR/PIR LDPE.

Nilörn releases 2024

Sustainability Report

Sustainability remains central to our strategy and to our vision of becoming “More fit for the Future.” In line with this commitment, we’re pleased to share our latest Sustainability Report.

A key focus in 2024 was our preparation for the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). These efforts not only ensure compliance with upcoming regulations but also help us identify where our actions can make the most meaningful and measurable difference.

Among other key actions this year, we actively participated in initiatives such as the Nordic Circular Design Program and the Accelerating Circularity Initiative, supporting circular business models and textile recycling. We also increased our use of recycled materials and offer certified options like OEKO-TEX®, FSC™, GRS, and bluesign® to ensure traceability and responsible sourcing.

As part of our ongoing commitment, we have integrated sustainability reporting into our 2024 Annual Report — linking financial and environmental performance to enhance transparency.

Sport – Streetwear

The materials are carefully selected, from the garments all the way through to the labels and trims. These include recycled polyester and materials that perform well for sports trims, such as recycled TPU and silicone. The packaging follows the same ethos and is made from EVA, recycled LDPE and FSCTM certified paper.

HIM & HER
Womenswear

HIM & HER is a unisex collection that combines sustainability, recycled materials and a timeless design. With this range, we ensure every detail is made responsibly, from the bio-based printing ink made from algae, all the way to the garment labels made from recycled polyester and the hangtags made from FSCTM recycled paper with recycled cotton strings.

MNDR CAPSULE
Sport – Streetwear

The MNDR Capsule is a contemporary brand that elevates everyday casual wear with bright pops of colour and soft gradients. The trims used in this range are made from recycled materials wherever possible, including FSC™ recycled paper hangtags, recycled polyester labels and recycled metal trims.

NORDBECK ARKTIK +
Outdoor

With strong, contrasting colours and graphics, Nordbeck Arktik+ boldly blurs the lines between urban streetwear and adventure gear. This concept uses materials proven for trims in the outdoor segment, such as bluesign® silicon, FSC™ paper and recycled polyester.

ADRIEN FORAY 
Menswear

Our well-dressed brand Adrian Foray, one might even say preppy, features designs that suit the modern man in both urban and business settings. The trims reflect today’s standards and requirements for responsible and sustainable production, utilising materials and fabrics such as corozo, recycled nylon, taffeta, paper strings, and corn crushed paper.

NON:LEATHER
Alternatives to leather

For patches, leather is a classic and widely used material. However, ethical and environmental concerns are prompting brands to seek non-animal alternatives. Leather production raises concerns such as animal welfare and the use of hazardous chemicals in the tanning process. Leather alternatives are often made from synthetic materials, which may also raise concerns about the use of hazardous chemicals during production.

We have explored a range leather alternatives available for trims and created NON:LEATHER: A collection of material options as viable alternatives to real leather, including in-depth material information to enable informed choices. From basic to high-end, standard to innovative, our range provides a variety of options with distinct characteristics and aesthetics. Nilorn has published its annual Sustainability Report, highlighting the company’s Environmental, Social and Governance programs and accomplishments to date.

The new report highlights continued progress in a number of areas including:

• 95% renewable sourced electricity in our own office and production units (incl. RECs).
• Continuing to make progress together with our clients moving to more preferred materials, reaching 45% of recycled polyester and 61% FSC™ paper.
• Achieving the target for reduction of air transportation and introduction of our internal Freight Handling Solution, supporting operational efficiency and decision-making.
• Strengthening the responsible supply chain practices and implementing a platform to enhance transparency and traceability.
